With the establishment of a new government at Westminster, the BPA has taken the opportunity to bring together all the issues which are important to the membership of the Association with a view to ensuring that we are lobbying the new government effectively, to the point and on the right issues. Where appropriate the BPA will seek to lobby with other organisations where this delivers benefits.
BPA Chief Executive Patrick Troy says ‘I want to formalise our strategy to influence government policy and take the opportunity of the election of a new government to ensure that our lobbying strategy is clear, relevant and targeted. The BPA’s elected Council is clear on the principal issues that the Association wants to see achieved through such a strategy and we are well positioned to work closely with government both at Minister and Officer level.
This Master Plan draws on the relevant elements of the Seven Point Action Plan that was borne out the Parking Summit, as well as issues that are integral to our current Five Year Strategy. Whilst this initial Master Plan is aimed at UK MPs, the BPA will shortly be distributing versions for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales taking into consideration the regional variations in policies, structure and priorities.
