At Anchor, we have bucked the trend with our first six months accounts showing an organic growth rate of 22%, which has come from winning contracts from our larger competitors. The reason most stated by our new customers for why they changed to Anchor was simple…. they felt that we looked at their requirements in a fresh and innovative way, often finding substantial commercial savings whilst increasing the benefits (pay, conditions and training) of the staff on site, whilst the larger traditional organisations are more regimented and slower to react.
There is no alchemy involved in achieving these goals, we simply look at each potential contract with a fresh pair of eyes and work from a viewpoint of ‘what does the customer require?’ E.g. a safe, clean and comfortable environment for their workforce/visitors – what could be simpler? Well the art is to achieve that output based specification whilst utilising the workforce in less traditional ways.
In a recent case study, we combined the roles of the night-time security staff and the night time cleaning staff into a new FM role, with an uplift in pay, whilst saving 14% of the contract cost.
In another example, we removed the two night time security staff, and (with a small capital expenditure) locked down the premises at night and reverted the CCTV monitoring and Access Control to our 24 hour Control Room, saving over £78,000 per annum.
Combine this imaginative thinking with our professional experience and owner-managed flexibility, Anchor is emerging as the natural alternative to the impersonal goliaths of the Security and Cleaning sector.
