For many years Anchor have secured the dock and vessels being refitted by North West Ship Repairers (NWSR) at Cammell Laird in Birkenhead. Recently NWSR were awarded a prestigious contract to refit and repair a number of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels
The Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service (RFA) is a civilian manned fleet, owned by the Ministry of Defence. Its main task is to supply warships of the Royal Navy at sea with fuel, food, stores and ammunition which they need to remain operational while away from base. It also provides aviation support for the Royal Navy, together with amphibious support and secure sea transport for Army units and their equipment.
During this large contract, Anchor have worked closely with NWSR to ensure a flexible and appropriate level of security cover is maintained at all times. Recognition is due to all the Security Team members who perform their duties in often difficult circumstances.
