Project Griffin

26/11/2007

Following recent meetings with the Manchester Police Force, Anchor have implemented a structured programme for all our retail staff to attend a one day course called “Project Griffin” where they learn more detail about terrorism and bomb awareness, receive a presentation from bomb disposal officers about how simple bombs are made and what they look like along with detailed presentations from Senior Police Officers.

Security staff who have completed this course receive a certificate, which is backed by Skills for Security.

Commenting on this initiative our Retail Operations Director – James Wheeler stated:

“This continued investment in promoting more awareness amongst our retail security teams is a vital part in equipping our workforce for the current challenges they are facing in the shopping centre environments. Our staff and customers alike are already seeing the benefits of this course with our staff taking a more proactive approach to improving tenant awareness of security related matters ”
